The East region of the NCAA Tournament is down to four teams and they are two quality games on this week’s slate of games.

The East Region of the NCAA Tournament will kick off from Washington D.C. with the LSU Tigers and Michigan State Spartans meeting in the first game and the Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Tech Hokies facing off in the nightcap.

The East is one of only two regions to have all top four seeds make the Sweet 16. Michigan State won convincingly in both their victories, despite an early struggle with the Bradley Braves. LSU won their games by a combined seven points. The Hokies and Blue Devils won by double digits in their first games but in their second game, things were a battle.

Duke needed some late-game heroics to defeat the UCF Knights 77-76 in the closing seconds. Things got tight, but they did enough to get the victory and that’s all that matters. The Tigers needed some late-game heroics as well from Skylar Mays and Tremont Waters to get past the Maryland Terrapins in the second round.

The East and West regions are the only regions with the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 seeds in the Sweet 16. While most of it has gone the way of the seeding, Friday night is set to have some intense battles. Here’s a look at the East Region preview for the NCAA Tournament.
