1. Steve Wojciechowski, Marquette

The Marquette Golden Eagles may be the destination once again to get a new head coach for the Virginia Tech Hokies. Steve Wojciechowski was hired to replace Buzz Williams and could be the reason their head coaching spot is vacant when it’s all said and done.

Wojo and company stumbled a bit in Big East play this past season. He’s still managed to make two NCAA Tournament appearances in five seasons and coached them to their best season as head coach this past year.

The ACC is a bigger beast than the Big East and recruiting means a whole lot more. Blacksburg is a unique place but if he can show he can attract the right talent to win, he’ll be a solid fit.

Wojo got his start in coaching as an assistant for the Duke Blue Devils, so he’s certainly capable in the regards of being able to coach in the ACC. For now, it’s about keeping the talent they have left and attracting talent in a hurry with such a short window. The chips could fall in his favor and if they do, expect a transfer or two to follow in his footsteps.
