1. NBA Draft stock of both Culver and Winston

Several players in the NCAA Tournament have done well to solidify their status for the upcoming 2019 NBA Draft. Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett, and Ja Morant. But another player has become a top-tier prospect in Jarrett Culver, who now could be picked in the top five in a couple of months.

The Big 12 Player of the Year has been just as fantastic in the Big Dance, averaging nearly 22 ppg. His field goal percentage hasn’t been as high as opponents have focused on him but Culver still manages to have a huge impact each time around. The 6’5 sophomore is a great scorer, rebounder, passer, and defender and with an improved three-point shot could be an all-star at the next level.

Michigan State’s best winner just wants a shot at the next level. Few, if any NBA mock drafts have Cassius Winston even getting listed in the second round, as his game isn’t perceived to be able to translate well. This is also going to be a deep draft overall for ball handlers, with quite a few already declaring.

There’s a strong chance that Winston will return for his final season with Michigan State. But it’s still important what happens this year as it’ll help the junior’s overall resume. Players such as Josh Hart and Devonte’ Graham have turned four-year careers that included deep runs in the NCAA Tournament to not only selections in the NBA Draft but also rotation spots and minutes for their respective teams. Another couple of great games and Winston’ sure to hear his name on draft night – whether his game fits well or not.
