ACC Basketball saw one of its own take home a national title, but on the recruiting trail, the battle for recruits is heating up.

ACC Basketball is getting a whole lot better on the recruiting trail, at least that’s the case for some teams. Recruiting is where a lot of teams will look to fill their needs and improve, but for some teams in the conference, they’re already set.

The Louisville Cardinals look like the early frontrunners for best class, filling essentially every need with six commitments in head coach Chris Mack’s first full recruiting cycle. They signed all their recruits in November, headlined by 6-foot-10 big man Aidan Igiehon and 6-foot-6 sharpshooter Samuel Williamson. Along with those recruits, they also return Jordan Nwora, Dwayne Sutton and Stephen Enoch, three key contributors from 2018-19. Don’t be surprised if they’re front-runners for the ACC title in 2019-20. Enoch has entered his name in the NBA Draft but hasn’t hired an agent.

The Virginia Cavaliers only have three commits in their 2019 recruiting class but they’ve gone all in on the class of 2020 with 13 open offers and Carson McCorkle already committed. Pending the status of Ty Jerome, Kyle Guy and Mamadi Diakite, their needs could change come end of May.

The Boston College Golden Eagles will lose Ky Bowman to the NBA Draft, but they’ve got Wynston Tabbs returning from injury as well as four commitments in this year’s class. C.J. Felder, Jay Heath Jr., Kamari Williams and Julian Rishwain will all have opportunities to step in and contribute right away. Each brings their own versatile set of skills to the rotation.

The Syracuse Orange got bounced early in the first round of the NCAA Tournament this year and they’ll have some new role players in 2019-20. Frank Howard is graduating and Tyus Battle and Pascal Chukwu are off to the NBA Draft, but they’ll have a lot returning in Elijah Hughes, Oshae Brissett and Marek Dolezaj as well as four recruits on their way, headlined by Brycen Goodine and Quincy Guerrier.

The Florida State Seminoles are the final team that looks to be finished on the recruiting trail. They have five total commitments on the way in their 2019 class. With Mfioundu Kabengele on his way to the NBA Draft, they’ll need to replace his contributions off the bench with one of their two Top 100 ranked prospects. Patrick Williams and Balsa Koprivica are the two headliners in the Seminoles class.

Through all of that, there are still some teams looking to fill some roles on the trail. Here’s a look at the biggest recruiting needs in the ACC for 2019-20.
