East Carolina Pirates

The East Carolina Pirates are coming off a rough 2018-19 campaign that saw them post a 10-21 record overall and 3-15 record in the American Athletic Conference. Five players are set to transfer while AAC All-Rookie selections Jayden Gardner and Shawn Williams are both set to return.

Sy would certainly bolster their frontcourt with an experienced big man and they’ve already got JUCO guards Tremont Robinson and Tyrie Jackson on the way in the 2019 recruiting class. Securing Sy would really give them an impact big man to put them over the hump in the AAC.

Former Virginia Tech assistant coach Steve Roccaforte was heavily involved with Sy’s recruitment with the Hokies so it’s no surprise the Pirates are in this position now. Roccaforte is a quality recruiter who’s been around the game for a long time.

Sy would be one of the best frontcourt players in AAC should he choose East Carolina. He’d certainly raise their potential as a Cinderella team in the NCAA Tournament as well.
