Julius Randle is the first of a few Kentucky Wildcats players to grace the list of best one-and-done players. Randle was a member of the Wildcats from 2013-14 during a prime run in the NCAA Tournament alongside Andrew Harrison, Aaron Harrison and James Young.

The lefty forward led the team in scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounds (10.4 rpg), as he emerged as their best shooter inside the arc. He shot 50.1 percent from the field on the year, as he took home SEC Rookie of the Year and First-Team All-SEC honors, while ranking fourth in total points (599) and first in total rebounds (416).

Randle made it all the way to the National Championship game as a member of the Wildcats’ 2014 NCAA Tournament squad. He recorded four double-doubles through their six tournament games. Kentucky fell to the UConn Huskies 60-54 in the end in the championship game, but Randle’s impact was felt regardless.

Randle was taken seventh overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. One game into his rookie year, he broke his leg. But since then, he’s managed to bounce back gracefully.

He returned in the 2015-16 season from his injury to produce 11.3 points and 10.2 rebounds per game for the Lakers. In four seasons with Los Angeles, he averaged 13.5 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game through 238 appearances.

Currently, he’s a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, where he averaged a career-high 21.4 points per game in 49 starts. Depending on where he ends up, his career should make quite a rise if Anthony Davis leaves.
