NBA Comparisons

Jarrett Allen/Hassan Whiteside

The biggest aspect of Jaxson Hayes’ game that stands out the most is probably his potential. Hayes is just scratching the surface with his abilities on the hardwood which leaves the potential open for him to turn into a Jarrett Allen/Hassan Whiteside type of player.

Hayes emerged as a full-time starter once he figured things out at Texas and at the next level, he’s got a bigger opportunity in front of him. He showed flashes of his offensive ability and efficiency in the paint on numerous occasions in 2018-19.

He put up a career-high 19 points on 7-of-8 shooting against the TCU Horned Frogs back on March 9. His 72.8 percent shooting percentage ranked first in the Big 12 and was a single-season school record.

As a player that’s already shooting 74.0 percent from the free throw line, his mid-range jump shot is certainly an aspect of his game that he could develop down the road as well.
