Texas basketball has been remarkably successful on the recruiting trail as of late. How is their incoming 2019 class going to impact the program?

Texas basketball has been extremely successful on the recruiting trail under head coach Shaka Smart. Year in and year out, the program always seems to find a way to land some of the top-rated players in the graduating high school class. And while this has not led to any major successes on the court, fans can always enter each season with a sense of excitement due to the plethora of new and talented players joining the roster.

Eventually, though, the team will need to put together a strong season on the court. Who is to say that this 2019 recruiting class won’t be the one to turn around the tides in Austin? Ranked at No. 16 in the country, this class of three has the potential to be exceedingly successful with the Longhorns. Texas, as per usual, is losing plenty of talent this offseason but this group should help to offset those departures.

Head into this coming campaign, not many experts are projecting the Longhorns to be a top-25 team in the country but they could be in the hunt for a potential NCAA Tournament bid. If that does occur, everyone knows about the magic of March: anything can happen. Of course, it is wayyyy too early to say that preseason projections are going to be exactly correct, so it will be interesting to see how these three commits impact the program during this season and those that follow.

Let’s take a deeper dive on each.
