Kentucky Basketball is likely to have three 1st Round picks in the 2019 NBA Draft. Keldon Johnson should be one of them, coming off a great freshmen season.

Kentucky Basketball guard Keldon Johnson was one of the surprises in the SEC this past season on the wing. After a quality season at Oak Hill Academy in 2017-18, he took his talents to the Wildcats to develop his game.

In his lone season of college basketball, he won the SEC Rookie of the Year award and earned second-team All-SEC honors. He showed off his versatility to be a quality scorer on the wing as well as a solid defender in his short time with the Wildcats.

Johnson produced 13.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from 3-point land. For a squad that didn’t rely too much on one player, Johnson played his role well in the rotation.

He isn’t necessarily a volume shooter but when he gets the ball in his hands, he’s got a knack for scoring the basketball, whether it be from inside the arc or from the free throw line. Johnson can get to the rim with his athleticism and when going downhill, he’ll make you pay at the rim. With his size at 6-foot-4 and 216-pounds, Johnson has the potential to emerge as a solid 3-and-D prospect at the next level. Here’s a look at the 2019 NBA Draft profile for Kentucky Wildcats wing Keldon Johnson.
