Mfiondu Kabengele is one of the biggest sleepers in this year’s NBA Draft class. He’s a versatile big man listed a 6-foot-8, 256-pounds that can stretch the floor with ability to score the ball on all three levels. The former Florida State Basketball player isn’t the biggest prospect on the floor height perspective, but he’s one prospect set to make a splash on the next level.
Kabengele took home the ACC Sixth Man of the Year award during the 2018-19 season, emerging as the Seminoles’ consistent scoring threat in the rotation. He put up 13.2 points per game on 50.2 percent shooting from the floor during the regular season while at Florida State.
He made the All-Tournament first-team as well with his performance in the 2019 ACC Tournament with 10.3 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per contest. With his ability to change the dynamic on the floor, he was one player in Florida State’s rotation that was hard to ignore.
His star power grew a lot more than expected last season, so much so, he’s entered his name early into the 2019 NBA Draft and chose to stick with his decision.
