NBA Comparisons

Donyell Marshall/Ryan Anderson

Mfiondu Kabengele is a player who could end up becoming a coveted player in the NBA, much like Donyell Marshall and Ryan Anderson. Marshall emerged as a tweener forward that could shoot it from anywhere on the floor, though his role was limited in some aspects. He finished his career averaging 11.2 points on 35 percent shooting from 3-point land and 43.5 percent from the field with eight different NBA teams.

Kabengele’s game leans more towards Ryan Anderson in regards to his ability to score from anywhere on the floor, though he brings a totally different skillset to the table. Anderson is a stretch-4 player in the NBA that’s made his way by shooting 38 percent from behind the arc and making 2.0 3-pointers per contest throughout his journeyman career.

It’s worth noting Anderson won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award during the 2011-12 with the Orlando Magic as well. Many still believe there’s room for improvement in Kabengele’s game in that regard. If he pans out with the right situation, he certainly has a long-term career potential in the NBA.
