NC State Basketball have a good mix of experience and youth in their 2019 recruiting class. Here’s an early look at their roster additions for 2019-20.
NC State Basketball took a few steps back in the 2018-19 season after making the 2018 NCAA Tournament. Although they finished with a 24-12 record (9-9 ACC), they fell short of the 2019 NCAA Tournament due to a number of bad losses when it counted most.
The Wolfpack once had a solid 2019 recruiting class pending the arrival of Jalen Lecque but his early departure to the NBA Draft has them grasping at straws in the backcourt. It helps that they’ll return Markell Johnson, C.J. Bryce and Devon Daniels but the loss of Lecque and the potential he brought certainly hurts their trajectory in the backcourt.
The Wolfpack did add some size on the wing and in the interior with their 2019 recruiting class. They’ve obtained an anomaly with a versatile guard and some experience with a few junior college and graduate transfers to lighten the load a bit.
They’re sure to have a busy time with the 2020 recruiting class, but for now, they’ve got some more size and offense going forward for next season. They’ll be inexperienced in the backcourt, but it raises the potential for them to utilize their versatility a whole lot more. Here’s a look at the recruits in the NC State Wolfpack’s 2019 class.
