Draft Stock

Nickeil Alexander-Walker is a prospect who has seen his stock grow in the past few seasons. In 2017-18, he emerged as a potential draft pick. This past season, he’s a potential lottery pick, depending on how the chips fall.

NAW has certainly done his part to get the notice of draft scouts, especially with his improved all-around game this past year with the Virginia Tech Hokies. He showed a developed game as a distributor and decision-maker in the ever-evolving Hokies offense in 2018-19.

In games he scored 20 points or more, Virginia Tech posted a record of 11-1. When the ball is in his hands, he’s known to make good things happen.

If he ends up with a team like the Orlando Magic or Detroit Pistons, look for him to emerge as a player with a long-term future in the league. It’s all about overall fit at the next level. He fits in with a team looking for a two-way guard that doesn’t need the ball in his hands to make a difference.
