Michigan State basketball just secured its second commitment from the 2020 class in the form of highly-touted big man Mady Sissoko.

Tom Izzo just added commit No. 2 to Michigan State basketball’s 2020 recruiting class. Mady Sissoko, a four-star center ranked as the No. 34 overall recruit and sixth-best center in the class by 247Sports, made his announcement to the green and white on Sept. 10.

Sissoko, who took his official visit this past weekend and was seen on the sidelines of the Michigan State football game, had canceled trips to other schools. News circulated through social media that it was likely he would commit to the Spartans in the near future.

Once again, he was heavily rumored to be leaning to be committing to Izzo and the Spartans for some time but this is still a strong addition. Sissoko joins in-state point guard Jalen Terry (Flint, MI), who is a top-75 prospect who committed back in April, in the program’s 2020 class so far.

Sissoko has a ton of potential since he has only played basketball for a little over three years now. The Mali native is still developing his game and has made big strides since playing AAU ball on the Nike EYBL circuit. He also participated in the NBPA Top 100 camp where he was able to showcase his big man skills.

Sissoko stands at 6-foot-9 and weighs 225 pounds. He will look to run the floor in Izzo’s fast-paced transition offense and make big strides with regards to his mobility. He could be a potential dominating force for Michigan State.

With the potential of big man Xavier Tillman going pro after this season, Sissoko can step in and start immediately for Michigan State. Izzo is gaining momentum and doesn’t appear to be slowing down, especially now that his son has joined the team as a walk-on freshman.

The Spartans are not done yet and will look to add two or three more student-athletes for the 2020 class. Getting a top-40 player in Sissoko is a great way to getting an amazing class like Michigan State did in 2016.
