Five-star NCAA Basketball prospect Caleb Love is down to a reported two teams. What are the pros and cons of each of those programs?

Of the top uncommitted NCAA Basketball class of 2020 prospects, Caleb Love and his recruitment have been under the national spotlight recently. A couple of months ago, the five-star point guard released a list of his six finalists – including Indiana, Arizona, Missouri, UNC, Louisville and Kansas. With respect to the Hoosiers and Wildcats, it was always viewed as a battle between the latter four programs mentioned.

After having already taken visits to both Missouri and North Carolina, Love recently decided to cancel future visits to both Louisville and Kansas. He also reportedly plans on announcing a decision around the end of September/start of October, giving either finalist an outstanding commit for their respective 2020 class.

For both the Tar Heels and Tigers, both coaching staffs and fans have to be incredibly happy about this set of news. The Jayhawks need a new point guard with Devon Dotson likely to go pro after this season, although the recent investigation and accusations from the NCAA made them a toxic situation at the moment. And Louisville was at some point considered the favorites to land Love, so eliminating a true threat in the Cardinals is a big positive for the two remaining teams.

Ranked as a consensus top-20 overall prospect, Love is a 6’3 playmaker who can score with the best of them. It’s not out of the question that he can average between 16-20 ppg as a freshman, regardless of which team he picks. There’s still room for improvement but don’t be surprised if the point guard is a “one and done” for the NBA.

It seems like the Tar Heels are the better option for Love but there are legit pros and cons for either situation that he’ll have to sort through. Here’s a look at what each program has to offer for the five-star prospect.
