Mississippi State Basketball Head Coach Ben Howland is entering his fifth year at the helm of the Maroon & White. After finishing tied for 6th in the SEC Conference last year, can he take the Bulldogs to new heights?

Mississippi State Basketball Head Coach Ben Howland has raised his program’s floor, over the past four years. His first two seasons in Starkville produced an underwhelming 30-33 record and an 11th and 12th place, in consecutive SEC Conference standings. Howland’s Mississippi motor started humming for the Bulldogs in year number three. His charges finished out the 2017-18 stanza with a winning 25-12 overall record, including a 9-9 conference slate which was good enough for 7th place, in the SEC.

His team received a bid to the NIT and finished in the final four, in that tournament. The coach capitalized on the experience gained from his NIT run and launched the Maroon & White to the next level. The 2018-19 season finished with a  23-11 record, a sixth-place conference finish and an NCAA Tournament bid. Things are definitely looking up, in Starkville, Mississippi.
