It’s just our main hosts this time for the latest Busting Brackets Podcast. What are their thoughts about the AAC and A-10 Conferences?

We’re less than a week away from the 2019-20 NCAA Basketball and our guys Brian Rauf and Conner Hope are as excited as ever! New preseason polls have been coming out, including the AP top-25. The guys take a few minutes to give their thoughts, including which teams were ranked too high or too low.

One of those teams is the Memphis Tigers, picked as one of the favorites to win AAC Basketball. With so much incoming talent, it’s hard to determine how they should be viewed. Is the hype of Memphis for real or are Connor and Brian not sold yet?

Not many were sold on the Houston Cougars last year before their surprising run to 33 wins and a Sweet Sixteen appearance. With the news of Quentin Grimes eligible for this season, the guys give their thoughts on what Houston can do as a team. Another team projected on a high finish in the AAC is Cincinnati, although they have a new head coach and several pieces to get acclimated. What should be expected of the Bearcats?

Outside of those three teams, there seems to be a logjam of programs looking to get in the NCAA Tournament picture. The guys give their picks of which teams to look out for in the middle of the AAC and are most likely to get an at-large bid.

Speaking of NCAA Tournament bids, the A-10 has consistently gotten multiple each year, despite their “mid-major” status. That’s likely not going to change this season, with a trio of teams (VCU, Dayton, and Davidson) the consensus top-tier of the conference. The guys look at each program and say what they like about them as they face tough non-conference competition. But there is talent outside of those teams; Connor and Brian look at some potential A-10 sleepers for 2019-20.
