Virginia Tech Hokies

There was a time when the Virginia Tech Hokies were on the good side of the Bubble but right now, it’s all been busted. The Hokies were 5-3 at one point in the ACC but since then, they’ve dropped six of their last seven games in conference action.

Things weren’t expected to go perfectly in head coach Mike Young’s first season and for the most part, they’ve gone as expected given their youth and inexperience on the roster. The Hokies are currently 11th in the ACC with five tough games left on the schedule. They’ve still managed to go 6-9 in the conference and 15-11 overall, but their NET ranking is currently at 78.

The Hokies haven’t fared well against teams in the first and second quadrants, either. Against Quadrant I, they’re 2-5 and 3-3 against teams in the Quadrant II. They’ve still gotten solid production from Landers Nolley II as he’s putting up 17.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists.

Then there’s Tyrece Radford, who’s posting 10.2 points per contest. They could be better suited for a run in a different postseason tournament because for now, they’re far from an NCAA Tournament squad.

Verdict: Sell
