The ACC Basketball Power Rankings sees another shift at the top as the conference tournament approaches next week. Take a look at the final edition of the rankings.
Heading into the 2020 ACC Basketball Conference Tournament, the Florida State Seminoles are this year’s regular-season champions after the Louisville Cardinals suffered a loss to the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday. At 16-4, the Seminoles and head coach Leonard Hamilton have returned to the top of the conference after going 13-5 a season ago. The Seminoles handled business on Senior Day with an 80-62 victory over the Boston College Golden Eagles to close out their ACC regular-season schedule.
The Louisville Cardinals, Duke Blue Devils and Virginia Cavaliers all finished with records of 13-5 following an interesting Saturday of basketball in the ACC. While the Cavaliers clipped the Cardinals, the Blue Devils completed a regular-season sweep of the Duke Blue Devils with an 89-76 over the North Carolina Tar Heels on Saturday.
Below the Top 4, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets quietly finished with an 11-9 record, good for fifth in the ACC standings despite their off-the-court woes. Josh Pastner might be onto something down in Atlanta.
Beneath the Yellow Jackets, the NC State Wolfpack, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Syracuse Orange are all tied in the standings with records of 10-10. As teams are peaking at the right time, it will be a fun week leading up to Selection Sunday.
