Joshua Langford

Out of all of the Spartans who participated in Sunday’s senior day activities, Langford is the only one who may play another season for the Green and White next season. He was recently quoted saying, “Everything’s on the table” for him moving forward. However, he is after the game against Ohio State going to go through the senior day festivities, so let’s take a look at his most memorable games and moments as a Spartan.

As a true freshman, he averaged 6.9 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists a game.

Langford busted on the scene with at the time, was a season-high 15 points in a win over Youngstown State. The Spartans needed him that game due to Miles Bridges not playing and from that point forward, Langford began starting more games as a true freshman and became a significant contributor for the Spartans that season.

The first Big Ten conference game that Langford made his mark was a home game against top 25 ranked Minnesota. In that game, he scored 13 points on six for nine shooting from the field to go along with a block, assist, and three rebounds in helping Michigan State to a 65-47 victory. He would finish the conference regular season with double-digit performances against, Iowa, Nebraska, and Penn State in the Big Ten tournament.

In the NCAA tournament as a true freshman, he had a very efficient game against Miami where he scored 13 points on 50% shooting from the floor. Even in the second round game loss against Kansas, he scored in double digits and shot well from the field. His freshmen season would lead to a great sophomore season.
