FiveThirtyEight.com with their mock tournament announced that in their tournament the No. 3 Michigan State Spartans defeated No. 1 Kansas with a very close a 1-point victory in their tournament simulation to win the 2020 national championship. Had the Spartans had won this year’s tournament and had it not been canceled, it would have been the program’s third national championship. However, they were not the only media outlet to predict a national championship for Michigan State.
