Duke Basketball is a team that has come up in the mix for transfer Andrew Nembhard. Here’s a look at three reasons why he’d be a good fit.

Duke Basketball hasn’t spent too much time in the realm of the transfer portal, but with things heating up with former Florida Gators guard Andrew Nembhard, it seems there’s potential there that another player in the portal could find themselves donning the blue and black very soon.

The Blue Devils are one of a few college programs that have reached out to Nembhard in recent days. He’s also been in contact with the likes of Gonzaga, Oregon, UCLA, Southern California, Memphis, and Georgetown. So, his potential landing spot is still up in the air. He finds himself in the transfer portal after previously deciding to enter his name in the NBA Draft. After withdrawing his name this past Sunday, he made the decision to transfer.

Nembhard is quite the coveted prospect and with good reason given his production in the SEC with the Florida Gators. He produced 11.2 points, 5.6 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game in 2019-20 as a sophomore, a year after earning SEC All-Freshman honors in 2018-19.

Now, he’s one of the most prized prospects in the transfer portal, though he’ll have to sit out the 2020-21 campaign due to transfer rules. With two years of eligibility left though, he’s got a ton of time left to show what he can do on the hardwood, especially if he ends up in the ACC. Here’s a look at three reasons why Andrew Nembhard should choose the Duke Blue Devils.
