NCAA Basketball: Analyzing 2021 5-star C Charles Bediako’s top 10 teams

Michigan Wolverines
Howard continues to receive consideration from top talent at every position, since taking over the program. He has continued to primarily utilize only one center on the floor, as was seen during John Beilein’s tenure. However, the opportunities afforded to centers under Howard were representative of better offensive balance.
The Wolverines have exhibited great team defense over the last decade and long wings to add shot disruption away from the center position. Bediako’s primary defensive focus will be to crash the glass and greater responsibility switching screens on the perimeter. There won’t be a ton of pressure for him to be an immediate defensive anchor and his productivity as a shot blocker will only be an extra asset for Howard.
Michigan’s bigs have typically had flexibility in their offensive games to stretch the floor, but this will be an aspect for Bediako to work on. The positive for him is that he presents more upside than incoming 2020 center Hunter Dickinson and would be in line to start immediately. Howard’s proven career on the court will be very beneficial for Bediako to refine his offensive game and improve in one of the best conferences in the nation.
