Eric Musselman’s annual compensation will increase by $100,000

Coach Eric Musselman is under contract with Arkansas Basketball until Apr. 30, 2024, and is set to make a base salary of 2.5 million dollars for the 2020-21 season. With approximately ten million left to be paid out by the conclusion of the 2020-21 season, Coach Musselman will earn himself a slight pay bump for the remaining three years.

After completing his first year at the helm of the Razorbacks with a 7-11 record and tenth place SEC finish, the $100,000 annual compensation increase for making the NCAA tournament seemed a few years away at best.  Fortunately for Coach Musselman and the Razorbacks, the offseason saw the signing of a trio of top 80 recruits and success stemming from the transfer portal as well, which will counter some of their production loss.

The ability to fill the void left by Mason Jones (22 ppg), Jimmy Whitt (14 ppg), and Isiah Joe (17 ppg) will be the reason why Arkansas Basketball will be invited to participate in the NCAA Men’s Division I tournament.

The freshman class arriving for the Razorbacks is arguably a top-10 class, No.8 to be exact on 24/7sports and consists of Moses Moody, K.K. Robinson, and Jaylin Williams. The transfers who are all eligible include Justin Smith, who averaged 10 points and 30 minutes per game with Indiana, Vance Jackson (11.1 ppg) from New Mexico, and Jalen Tate who averaged 14 points for Northern Kentucky. In addition to Desi Sills (10.6 ppg) returning, JD Notae is eligible after sitting a year of averaging 15.5 points per game for Jacksonville.
