The Red River Rivalry is what we call this matchup in college football. It is just as fun to watch on the hardwood. The Longhorns have the edge in the last six meetings with a 4-2 record in that span. Oklahoma, however, has the all-time series lead 48-37.

The last time they played one another, the Longhorns pulled out a 52-51 victory in Norman, Oklahoma, behind a last-second three-point dagger by Matt Coleman III. He finished with 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting from the field. The loss was a disappointing end to the senior night of Khristian Doolittle, who missed two critical free throws to make it a two-possession game at 53-49. Doolittle was the leading scorer for the Sooners with 20 points and 10 rebounds.

While Doolittle is no longer with the team, Austin Reaves and Brady Manek still are, and they lead the Sooners in scoring along with De’Vion Harmon. They earned a big victory Saturday with a 75-68 upset win over the No. 9 Kansas Jayhawks led by Harmon’s 22 points. College basketball fans trolled Kansas on Twitter. The Sooners are ranked in the NET and their only two quad one wins came against West Virginia and the Jayhawks. Check out their NET team sheet.

On the other side, Andrew Jones, Courtney Ramey, Coleman III, and Greg Brown lead Texas basketball. The Longhorns have won seven out of their last eight games and are only a game behind the Baylor Bears for first place in the conference. They are currently ranked No. 12 in the NET with a 3-2 quad one record. Check out their NET team sheet.

Common themes in this matchup last time were ball movement, ball pressure, and fast-break efficiency. These will be things to watch on Tuesday.

This game is going to be another close, exciting matchup. I don’t see a last-second shot deciding it. The last five minutes of the game are going to be telling. After their upset of Kansas, the Sooners carry that momentum into this one and win by six points.

Prediction: Oklahoma 77 – Texas 71
