NCAA Basketball: 2022 4-star G Arterio Morris down to 5 schools

Texas Longhorns
Texas is becoming a common option for many top recruits in the state. The hiring of Chris Beard and his staff has had such a huge impact on the college basketball landscape that players are flocking towards the program at high speeds. Longhorn assistants Ulric Maligi and Jerrance Howard were both heavily involved with Morris recruitment prior to following Beard to Austin, but have since joined forces and have created an even stronger pull towards the Longhorn program.
Morris has mentioned lately how frequently in contact he is with the Texas staff and has only had positive things to say about the group assembled there. The Longhorns present the second of 2 chances for Morris to unite and play college basketball with new iSchool teammate Keyonte George. The duo has tremendous ability to become a stout defensive tandem with high octane offensive power.
It’s a selling point Beard’s staff will likely pursue, but even if it doesn’t happen Texas is still a strong choice for Morris to chase. Beard preaches defense and wants strong guards to lead his team on both ends of the floor. Morris embodies that and would also provide a potent offensive threat to ease production on either end of the court. The potential for a fruitful marriage in burnt orange is not something that can be ignored.
