Boston College Basketball: A look at the seasons of 6 current pro players

Eight former Boston College Basketball players are currently on professional teams across the globe, including NBA players Reggie Jackson and Jared Dudley. Here is a look at how each player has performed this year.

Reggie Jackson plays a major role for the Western Conference’s fourth-seeded Los Angeles Clippers, who evened their first-round series with the Dallas Mavericks 2-2 on Sunday night.  in Jackson has played very well the last three games in the series, totaling 46 points on 16 of 36 (44.4%) shooting, including 10 of 26 (38.6%)  from beyond the arc as well as eight assists.

The 10-year pro, who has scored in double-figures 38 times this year, averaged10.7 points to go along with 3.1 assists,  and 2.7 rebounds during the regular season.

Jared Dudley, a true pro, is in his second season with the Los Angeles Lakers but has only played 81 minutes over 12 games this season as he tore his right MCL off the bone three months ago. The 13-year pro has compiled career averages of 7.3 points and 1.0 3-pointers while connecting on 46.3% of his shots overall as well.

Deontae Hawkins

played just eight career games (all starts) in his lone season for the Eagles in 2017-18, producing 99 points and grabbing 73 caroms (21 offensive) while shooting 46.4% from the field and 34.8% from deep. The 27-year-old started his Euro career in Lebanon and now plays in Italy’s Division II, where he is averaging 14.8 points, 1.5 triples, and 6.0 rebounds a game for Edilnol Pallacanestro Biella.

Patrick Heckmann was a role player for the four seasons he was with the Eagles. The 29-year-old German compiled 7.6 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists a game with BC (2011-2015). He has been playing professionally in Germany since leaving Chestnut Hill, playing for the Raptiopham Ulm the last two seasons– where the 6-6 shooting guard is averaging 4.6 points while shooting 46.8% from the field over 15.9 minutes.

Matt Milon started his career at BC  (2015-16), but he also played at William & Mary and UCF. Milon averaged 5.4 points on 46.2% shooting from the field over 16.6 minutes in 30 appearances, including three starts. He is currently a rookie for Swiss club Starwings Basket Regio Basel, averaging 12.7 points and 2.2 3-pointers along with 2.5 rebounds. He is shooting 47.1% from the field and 38.5% from deep.

Derryck Thornton played just one season in Boston College, but he parlayed that into a career season, compiling 12.8 points to go along with 2.8 boards and 3.4 dimes during the 2019-20 campaign. The 24-year-old point guard started his career at Duke before spending two seasons at USC.

He is currently in his first season with Serbian club KK Borac Cacak, tallying 85 points, 27 assists, and 13 rebounds in 235 minutes over 18 appearances.
