Georgetown basketball got its first NCAA Tournament appearance under head coach Patrick Ewing in 2020-21 following a run through the Big East Tournament for the automatic bid. There are a ton of departures from last season’s squad though, making this year’s class even more important.

With seven newcomers, don’t be surprised if Georgetown basketball is back in the NCAA Tournament discussion once again in 2021-22. Here’s a look at the seven newcomers in their 2021 recruiting class.

7. Jalin Billingsley

Billingsley is a three-star prospect out of Lutheran East (OH) that made his mark as a rim protector and rim runner. He’s got solid court vision and an emerging floor game to go along with his length.

He’s got good potential as a stretch forward option with his length and athleticism. Look for him to make way for himself in the Hoyas frontcourt in 2021-22.

6. Jordan Riley

Riley has the potential to really boost the Hoyas on multiple fronts. He’s got versatility on his side at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds and uses his strong frame play passing lanes and be effective on defense. He’s shown off the ability to play above the rim on both ends and has underrated length for his size.

Offensively, he likes to run the lane and finish at the rim and has nice range on his shot on the perimeter. He’s got good potential with the style Georgetown likes to play and may be one of the more underrated names in the bunch.

5. Tyler Beard

Beard turned heads at Hargrave Military Academy as he developed into quite the creator on all three levels. He’s got a strong 6-foot-2 frame that allows him to play a physical brand of basketball.

He’s a wiry prospect that likes to find the paint and finish through contact. Whether off the bench or in the starting rotation, he has the potential to make an impact with his ability to attack off the bounce and defend at a high level. He’ll be a guard prospect to keep an eye on for the Hoyas.
