Small Forward

The Blue Devils have a ton of experience at the small forward spot with juniors Joey Baker and Wendell Moore Jr. leading the charge. While Moore has maintained the starting role in his first two seasons, Baker is right on his heels with his ability to knock down the 3-ball entering his senior season.

Moore saw his numbers jump slightly in his sophomore season as he produced 9.7 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.7 apg, and 1.2 spg while Baker averaged just 2.9 ppg and 1.2 rpg on 31.4 percent from 3-point range. He didn’t shoot the ball particularly well, given the pandemic, some guys just weren’t themselves. If Baker can find his confidence shooting the ball and produce, look for his minutes to go up.

Moore holds the advantage given his strength and ability to rebound the ball but if Baker can show he can play both ends consistently this season, he could see more action.

AJ Griffin is another name that could play the small forward/wing role for the Blue Devils as well given his frame and ability to defend on the perimeter and in the paint area.
