UNC basketball went 18-11 on the year and 10-6, finishing fifth in the ACC basketball standings and even made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament before head coach Roy Williams decided to retire from college basketball, rocking the entire landscape. It didn’t take long before a new suitor to take on a new role emerged in Hubert Davis, who now looks to take over and start a new era.

With a new head coach and some new talent across positions, the UNC basketball faithful can expect a healthy number of position battles in preseason workouts and beyond. They’ve got some versatile prospects that can do a number of things, that’s for sure.

The Tar Heels return Armando Bacot, Caleb Love, and RJ Davis but with some intriguing additions from the transfer market, they should be a lot more talented on the interior and versatile in 2021-22.

As a team, North Carolina basketball shot 31.8 percent from behind the arc, good for 13th in the ACC this past season. With some size and perimeter shooting threats, things should be a lot different this upcoming season.

They still return a bulk of their scoring production from a team that finished third in ACC basketball in scoring offense (75.2 ppg). With a new coach on the sideline and five newcomers on the squad, here’s a look at the projected starters and depth chart for UNC basketball heading into the 2021-22 season.
