Creighton basketball had a historic 2020-21 season, making their first Sweet 16 appearance since 1974 led by Marcus Zegarowski, Denzel Mahoney, Mitchell Ballock, and Damien Jefferson. They finished the year with a 22-9 record, 14-6 in Big East basketball action, but how will things look in 2021-22?

They didn’t waste any time reloading on the recruiting trail with their top-ranked 2021 recruiting class. The Bluejays finished ranked seventh nationally on 247Sports team rankings and first atop the Big East in the battle for the top recruits.

They’ve got a ton to replace with the departures of Zegarowski, Jefferson, and a few others who took the pro route or hit the transfer portal, but with seven new faces on the roster, they shouldn’t have a difficult time finding their identity in 2021-22.

Here’s a look at the Bluejays 2021 recruiting class and each player’s potential impact.

7. John Christofilis

John Christofilis is a sharpshooting guard prospect out of Washington where he attended BFL Prep this past season, playing alongside Duke-bound forward Paolo Banchero.

He’s got a ton of confidence shooting the ball on the perimeter and creating his own opportunities off the bounce. He should compete for minutes in the backcourt and on the perimeter given what he can do.
