Virginia Tech basketball returns in 2021-22 looking to keep the magic going under head coach Mike Young. After going 15-7 on the season and finishing third place in ACC basketball at 9-4, they look to keep things trending in the right direction this upcoming year.

With a key addition out of the transfer portal in Storm Murphy (Wofford), a few other additions in the frontcourt, the Hokies look to prove the doubters wrong once again. Murphy looks to become yet another Mike Young holdover looking to make a splash in the ACC basketball landscape.

6-foot-9 forward Keve Aluma led the way for the Hokies in 2020-21 with 15.2 ppg, 7.9 rpg, 2.2 apg and 1.3 bpg while shooting 49 percent from the field and 35.1 percent from behind the arc on his way to an All-ACC second-team selection in his first year in the lineup.

Now, with some reinforcements in the backcourt and frontcourt, the Hokies look to make waves once again this upcoming season. While Storm Murphy and Sean Pedulla are the leading new faces, there’s room in the frontcourt for new contributors to emerge.

Lynn Kidd (Clemson) jumps from one ACC basketball squad to another while Jaylen Haynes is another name that looks to carve a role after spending a postgraduate season at Montverde Academy. Here’s a look at the projected starting lineup and depth chart for Virginia Tech basketball in 2021-22.
