Wing/Forward

Anthony Polite is a returning player to the Florida basketball rotation, giving him a bit of a leg up on the newcomers behind him in Matthew Cleveland and Cam’Ron Fletcher. He’s a 6-foot-6 wing/forward that made 16 starts in his 21 appearances in 2020-21, averaging 10.1 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 1.8 apg, and 1.4 spg through 26.6 mpg while shooting 50 percent from the floor.

With his scoring prowess and perimeter shooting ability (43.6 percent from 3-point range in 2020-21), look for him to set the tone at the 3-spot for the Seminoles. He had quite the breakout season and with an increased role, he’s set to produce a lot more in the rotation.

There shouldn’t be much falloff with Matthew Cleveland playing the backup role to Polite. Much like Scottie Barnes, Cleveland will have an opportunity to play the point-forward and create in space much as he did for much of his high school career. He’s a 6-foot-8 highly rated prospect that likes to attack off the bounce and make plays.

Cam’Ron Fletcher will certainly carve a role out for himself so expect to see him play some reserve minutes at the 3, though he should also play the forward position given his length.
