4. Josh Minott

Josh Minott is the fourth freshman to join the Memphis basketball rotation. He’s flown under the radar a bit despite being the No. 44 overall ranked prospect in the 2021 class as a small forward.

He’s the 10th ranked forward and ninth-ranked prospect in the state of Florida after attending St. Andrew’s School in Boca Raton this past season, where he averaged 23.1 ppg and 8.3 rpg as a senior.

Given his length and ability to attack the basket at 6-foot-9, he’s yet another prospect with off-the-ball potential on the floor. Don’t be surprised if he turns heads off the bench with what he can do.

3. Earl Timberlake Jr.

Earl Timberlake Jr. is the third and final transfer joining the Memphis basketball rotation in 2021-22. He spent his freshman season with the Miami Hurricanes in the ACC in 2020-21 before deciding to find another destination to develop as a college basketball player.

He averaged 9.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 2.4 apg, and 1.7 spg through seven games (three starts) before a left shoulder injury sidelined him for the season.

Timberlake is probably the biggest wildcard in this group given his ability to defend and play off the ball. With less pressure on the wing and a fresh start on the horizon, look for him to carve a role for himself in the Memphis basketball rotation.
