Surprise, surprise…after a run to the NCAA Championship game, Gonzaga Basketball has a top-ranked recruiting class in 2021 once again. This year’s headlining name: Chet Holmgren has quite the potential as a two-way star, but he’s not the only name to know in their third nationally-ranked class.

Head coach Mark Few and his staff wasted no time in reloading after a season that saw them lose their one and only game of the season to the Baylor Bears in the National Championship Game. After a 31-1 season, things shouldn’t slow down too much as they return Andrew Nembhard and Drew Timme while adding five new faces from their recruiting class.

Here’s a look at the Bulldogs 2021 recruiting class.

5. Nolan Hickman Jr.

Nolan Hickman Jr. was originally committed to the Kentucky Wildcats before de-committing and signing with Gonzaga basketball in May this past summer. He’s a four-star point guard with the potential to boost the Bulldogs backcourt with his size and skillset.

He’s a prospect that hasn’t gotten as much fanfare around his name despite being the 32nd nationally-ranked prospect in the 2021 class. The 6-foot-2 point guard spent the 2020-21 season at Wasatch Academy (UT) where he posted 16.0 ppg, 3.3 apg, and 2.5 rpg to earn the MaxPreps Boys Basketball Utah Player of the Year award.
