Big 12 Basketball: Preseason power rankings for 2021-22 season
Big 12 basketball returns in 2021-22 as the Baylor Bears look to make another run at a national championship. Don’t fret though, because Kansas basketball is back with a number of new faces looking to retake their throne.
There’s a new era beginning on the sidelines for a few schools in the Big 12 basketball ranks as T.J. Otzelberger (Iowa State), Porter Moser (Oklahoma), Mark Adams (Texas Tech) and Chris Beard (Texas) take over as head coaches in their first year.
There’s room for plenty of storylines as each of them looks to make their mark on the conference. Seats heating up of course for a few squads, namely the TCU Horned Frogs and Kansas State Wildcats. TCU and Kansas State basketball will need to turn things around soon or new eras could be starting there soon as well.
Big 12 basketball isn’t without its darkhorse candidates either as the Oklahoma State Cowboys look to make consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances for the first time since 2015. Head coach Mike Boynton has his squad trending in the right direction with a significant key addition.
Head coach Bob Huggins and West Virginia basketball will look to recover from some shifting on the roster after tying for a third-place finish in the Big 12 basketball standings. With an offseason to recover with their own transfer portal additions, they’re another squad set to make some moves in the conference.
