Wing/Forward

Tyler Wahl is a 6-foot-9 forward with some promise at the hybrid forward spot. He’s another player in the Wisconsin basketball rotation with room to breakout in the rotation. He’s the lead name at the versatile forward spot, but one area he’ll need to improve in is his 3-point shooting.

Wahl shot just 27.8 percent from 3-point land, though it was an improvement from 2019-20, but that’s the key, continuing to improve that number with a bigger role in the rotation. He appeared in 31 games (18 starts) this past year and put up 5.2 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 1.4 apg, and 1.0 spg. He’ll need to produce a whole lot more for the Badgers to find success this year.

Ben Carlson and Steven Crowl are two other names with the potential to carve out roles for themselves in the rotation. Carlson appeared in just seven games last season averaging 2.9 ppg and shooting 33.3 percent from 3-point range. Crowl, a 7-footer who could also slide over to the 5-spot, appeared in 12 games this past season.

Matthew Mors is a new addition that could also make his mark at the wing/forward spot. He’s another member of the 2021 recruiting class with promise after a productive high school career. He’s got some versatility in his skillset that Coach Gard could use.
