Forward

The forward spot is up for grabs and don’t be surprised if a number of names are given the experimental treatment here with Ben Carlson, Steven Crowl, Chris Hodges and Markus Ilver in the rotation.

With a lot of newcomers and not very much experience at the 4-spot, Wisconsin basketball could find things will come a bit tough down low, at least in the early going. Carlson and Crowl are the lone returners in the group, though with limited experience.

Hodges and Ilver are two members of the Wisconsin basketball 2021 recruiting with room to prove themselves and make an impact right away. Hodges is a 6-foot-9, 225-pound prospect with nice instincts as a scorer, rebounder, and shot-blocker.

He put up 15.5 ppg, 8.0 rpg, and 2.0 bpg as a junior at Schaumburg High in Illinois. He opted out of the 2020-21 season due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so he’s certainly got fresh and very eager legs under him.

Ilver’s senior campaign was also cut short by the Covid-19 pandemic. He’s a 6-foot-8, 195-pound that can operate inside and out with room to get stronger over his career. He knocked down six 3-pointers in one game before things were cut short in 2020-21. He’ll look to make a name for himself in 2021-22.
