Indiana Basketball: Projected starting lineup and depth chart for 2021-22 season
Indiana basketball enters a new era once again after parting ways with head coach Archie Miller after a 12-15 season. Head coach Mike Woodson returns to his alma mater as the first former player of Bobby Knight to take over the reins on the sideline.
While the initial hire wasn’t taken with complete optimism, he proved himself right away, by luring five Indiana basketball players out of the transfer portal, including Trayce Jackson-Davis. With his experience on NBA sidelines and pedigree for playing up-tempo basketball, he’ll look to turn things around with some impressive returning pieces on the 2021-22 roster.
Jackson-Davis is just one leading name that returns for the Hoosiers as Woodson and his staff didn’t waste any time getting better in the transfer portal, either. The addition of Xavier Johnson (Pittsburgh) and Parker Stewart (UT-Martin) should strengthen the backcourt a ton and Miller Kopp (Northwestern) gives them some perimeter scoring and Michael Durr (USF) gives them some experience and size in the frontcourt.
Woodson has things looking good so far. Now, he’ll just need to show his team can be better than the 11th scoring offense that they were a season ago. Here’s an early look at Indiana basketball’s projected starting lineup and depth chart for the 2021-22 season.
