Talent-laden is one way to describe the Nebraska basketball rotation as they head into 2021-22 looking to turn a corner in the Big Ten basketball landscape. Head coach Fred Hoiberg returns three of five starters from a season ago while adding eight newcomers after finishing last season in the NIT.

Now, they’ll look to make some noise and potentially shake things up with an NCAA Tournament berth, led by a talented 2021 recruiting class and some veteran returners. Top 100 recruit Bryce McGowens joins his brother, Trey, as the duo looks to use their chemistry and talent in more ways than one to turn things around for the Cornhuskers.

The Cornhuskers went 3-16 in Big Ten action and finished 7-20 overall in what was a season of growing pains ut they got some production out of Trey McGowens in his first season after joining the squad from Pittsburgh. Working his brother into the mix this year will be key as well using their depth in the frontcourt.

Derrick Walker and Lat Mayen are the leading return names in the frontcourt with size and versatility set to raise their production as well. They’ll have plenty of help too with the additions of freshmen Wilhelm Breidenbach and Oleg Kojenets and the return of Eduardo Andre.

There’s plenty of reason for excitement with so much talent from top to bottom on the Cornhuskers’ roster. Here’s a look at the projected starting lineup and depth chart for Nebraska basketball in 2021-22.
