Hoosiers . 6. team. 482. . .

Indiana basketball has seen five new head coaches since the departure of head coach Bobby Knight from the sidelines. 2015 is the last year that Indiana basketball made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Since then, the Hoosiers have seen head coach Tom Crean and Archie Miller became the latest names that were unable to turn things around on the sidelines.

First-year head coach Mike Woodson enters as the first former player under Bob Knight looking to right the ship in Bloomington. Woodson has passed his first test already pulling five returning players out of the transfer portal, including potential lottery pick Trayce Jackson-Davis.

Jackson-Davis‘ return gives the Hoosiers a solid starting point to work with as does the addition of Xavier Johnson (Pittsburgh), Miller Kopp (Northwestern), and Tamar Bates to the rotation.

Johnson will bring instant offense and play the quick pace that Mike Woodson likes to play. Kopp will add a perimeter shooter with experience under his belt already in Big Ten basketball action. Bates will give the Hoosiers a potential slasher with good upside off the bench.

Woodson has Indiana basketball looking good on paper with four players back with starting experience and two instant impact transfers. He’s set to make a splash in the Big Ten, now he’ll just need to prove himself.
