Butler Basketball: 2021-22 season preview and outlook for Bulldogs
It hasn’t exactly been smooth sailing for LaVall Jordan and Butler basketball over the past four seasons. Jordan boasts a record of 59-40 after going 10-15 on the year and finishing 10th in Big East basketball at 8-12 in 2020-21. In 2021-22, they’ll look to get past injuries and the pandemic with all five starters back and with the addition of Ty Groce (Eastern Michigan), things could be looking up for the Bulldogs.
Groce returns for a fifth season looking to turn things around for a squad that had a bit of an identity crisis with the pandemic, dropping five of their last eight games during the regular season and conference tournament. His athleticism and prowess on the wing will certainly raise Butler basketball’s profile this upcoming season.
The return of Aaron Thompson, Bryce Nze, Bryce Bolden, and a lot more veterans showed that the chemistry should certainly be present for the Bulldogs this season to get over the hump. Myles Tate should be healthy after injuring his ACL and Thompson, the team’s best passer is back from a shoulder injury as well.
There’s reason to believe Butler can back to their winning ways and back to the top of Big East basketball, but they’ll need to stay healthy to be successful. Here’s an overall outlook and season preview for Butler basketball in 2021-22.
