Kansas basketball looks to bounce back after an early exit in the Round of the 32 in the 2021 NCAA Tournament. They’re ranked No. 3 in the early preseason AP Top 25 poll that was recently released.

The Jayhawks found themselves in upset territory as a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament, falling 85-51 to No. 6 seed USC in the second round this past March. As they look to bounce back, they’ll have a total of eight new faces, including four from the transfer portal, as Coach Self looks to adjust to the ever-changing landscape of college basketball.

They still managed to finish 21-9 on the season and 12-6 in the Big 12 basketball conference, but they were a middle-of-the-pack squad when it came to scoring the ball and stretching the floor as a 3-point shooting squad.

Four of five starters are back from a season ago for Kansas basketball but with the additions of Remy Martin (Arizona State), Jalen Coleman-Lands (Iowa State) and Cam Martin (Missouri Southern St.), shooting, depth, and athleticism shouldn’t be an issue in 2021-22.

There’s a reason the Jayhawks are highly favored to win the conference crown this year with tons of veterans back with David McCormack and Ochai Agbaji leading the charge. Martin’s presence will certainly raise their overall profile as will others. Here’s a look at the 2021-22 season preview for Kansas basketball.
