Key reserves

Guard – Joseph Yesufu, Junior

The 6’0 guard averaged 12.8 ppg at Drake and was the 6th Man of the Year in the Missouri Valley Conference last season. But when injuries forced him to start and get extended minutes, Yesufu had a number of big scoring games, including 68 points combined in two games against Evansville. The combo guard can play with the 1 or 2 spot on the court and provides instant offense on the court.

Guard – Jalen Coleman-Lands, Senior

Jalen Coleman-Lands is another addition to Kansas basketball out of the transfer portal from Iowa State. He put up 14.3 ppg, 3.9 rpg and 1.2 apg while shooting 39.5 percent from 3-point range in 2020-21. He’s set to add shooting and rebounding to their rotation with his skill set at 6-foot-4.

Guard – Dajuan Harris Jr., Soph.

Dajuan Harris Jr. made appearances in all 30 contests for the Jayhawks in 2020-21. He’s a 6-foot-1 guard that posted 2.2 ppg, 2.2 apg, 1.1 rpg and 1.0 spg in his debut season after redshirting in 2019-20. He’ll continue to develop as a reserve in 2021-22.

Guard – Bobby Pettiford Jr., Frosh.

Bobby Pettiford Jr. is a new face that should turn heads with his ability to get downhill and make plays in the paint and create off the bounce. His maturity with the ball in his hands should get him some early minutes at the lead guard spot.

Forward – Mitch Lightfoot, Senior

Mitch Lightfoot enters his sixth year in the program and should add shot-blocking and rebounding off the bench for Kansas basketball. He averaged 3.4 ppg and 2.5 rpg across 30 appearances (10.6 mpg) in 2020-21.

Forward/Center – Cam Martin, Senior

Cam Martin will take on the task of playing the backup role to McCormack, which should give him plenty of minutes. He produced 25.0 ppg and 9.0 rpg on 45 percent shooting from 3-point land and 58 percent shooting from the field at Missouri Southern.
