Schedule outlook

The 2021-22 season schedule for LSU basketball opens up with five consecutive home games beginning on Nov. 9 against ULM. Games against Texas State (Nov. 12), Liberty (Nov. 15), McNeese State (Nov. 18), and Belmont (Nov. 22) will follow before they make a trip to Florida for the Emerald Classic.

They’ll open the Emerald Classic against Penn State (Nov. 26) then face Oregon State/Wake Forest on Nov. 27 depending on the results. The Tigers will return home on Dec. 1 to face Ohio then square off against ACC basketball’s Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets in the Holiday Hoopsgiving (Dec.11).

After that, LSU basketball returns home for their final three non-conference games. They’ll host Northwestern State (Dec. 14) then Louisiana Tech (Dec. 18) and then Lipscomb (Dec. 22) before kicking off the SEC basketball conference slate.

The Tigers will start things off on the road against Auburn (Dec. 29) in SEC play then host Kentucky (Jan. 4) and Tennessee (Jan. 8) before going back on the road to face Florida on Jan. 12.

They return home on Jan. 15 to face Arkansas then had back-to-back road games against Alabama (Jan. 19) and Tennessee (Jan. 22) then return home against Texas A&M on Jan. 26.

There’s a brief pause in the conference schedule for the Big 12/SEC Challenge on Jan. 29 when they’ll travel to Fort Worth to square off against TCU. In last year’s challenge, they lost 76-71 to another Texas squad in Texas Tech in a close one.

Conference action picks back up to begin the month of February with Ole Miss on Feb. 1 followed by back-to-back road games against Vanderbilt (Feb. 5) and Texas A&M (Feb. 8).

Consecutive home games follow with Mississippi State (Feb. 12) and Georgia (Feb. 16) then another set of road games against South Carolina (Feb. 19) and Kentucky (Feb. 23).

In the final three contests of the regular-season conference slate, they’ll face Missouri (Feb. 26) at home, Arkansas (March 2) on the road, and Alabama (March 5) at home.

The SEC Tournament runs from March 9-13 from Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida.
