2. Slow down TyTy Washington & Sahvir Wheeler
Duke basketball will have their hands full with the Kentucky backcourt of TyTy Washington and Sahvir Wheeler. Slowing them down will certainly go a long way in earning the Blue Devils a victory.
Washington and Wheeler look to be a two-headed monster for the Wildcats that will look to keep teams guessing. They’ve got playmaking ability to go along with perimeter shooting prowess that should keep the Blue Devils busy all night long on Tuesday.
The duo combined for 30 points and 12 assists in their exhibition victory over Miles College, but they also combined for six turnovers as well. Putting some pressure on them in the backcourt and throwing some different looks at them should test their resolve early.
Washington shot a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc while Wheeler went 2-of-4. They’re capable three-level scorers that should do well along with new addition Kellan Grady, who can also shoot the 3-ball.
Duke basketball has plenty of versatile defenders to throw at the Kentucky backcourt in the form of Trevor Keels and A.J. Griffin. Both players are known for pressuring defenders and turning defense into instant offense when they’re on the floor. Look for them to step up and answer the call on the defensive end for the Blue Devils on Tuesday night.
