Notre Dame Basketball continues to win in the 2022 recruiting class, landing four-star prospect Ven-Allen Lubin.

Notre Dame Basketball already had a good 2022 recruiting class with forward Dom Campbell and guard JJ Starling, but it got even better on Tuesday night. Forward Ven-Allen Lubin committed to the Irish to round out their class for 2022.

Ven-Allen Lubin committed to the Fighting Irish over Clemson, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech. The power forward is seen as a top 100 player by the big-time recruiting outlets with Rivals at 67, ESPN 75, and 247 Sports of a composite ranking at 76.

There is a lot to like about Lubin’s game overall. First you love his size at 6’8 and being 220 lbs and will only get bigger once he hits the athletic training program at Notre Dame. He really has the speed, quickness, motor, and overall IQ that you look for in a player.

Lubin is very polished around the rim, able to shoot consistently all the way out to the three-point line, plus able to take you off the dribble if needed to as well. I’m going back to his IQ. Just watching his highlights he really seems to always make the correct decision with the ball, or find himself to be in the right place at the right time whether that be on offense or defense. He will fit right into the freestyle offense that Mike Brey runs at Notre Dame.

It is very easy to see why so many teams wanted this Orlando native to be a part of their roster. Have to give a lot of credit to coach Mike Brey and the rest of the coaching staff for securing this commitment from Ven-Allen Lubin. Like with JJ Starling the Irish really put on a full-court press in showing how much they wanted the 2022 forward.

Notre Dame was late to the party compared to other schools, but obviously was able to get it done in the end. It was not too long ago that people were wondering if Mike Brey was still invested, especially on the recruiting trail. The work that Notre Dame has done with this class alone proves that Brey and the rest of the staff is still very hungry.

The Irish class now has JJ Starling the highest recruit in the Mike Brey era, forward Dom Campbell, and now forward Ven-Allen Lubin. This class for Notre Dame should finish in the top 25. Mike Brey and the rest of the coaching staff are showing Irish fans out there that the future is very bright in South Bend.
