Ranking the freshman seasons of former number one high school recruits: 24. Avery Bradley

Freshman stats: 11.6 ppg, 2.9 rbg, 2.1 apg

It might be a bit hard to believe but Avery Bradley was once considered the best high school player in the world. Even with the likes of Derrick Favors, John Wall, and even DeMarcus Cousins, Bradley, by and large, was considered the best of the best.

In his senior year at Findlay Prep, Bradley had a fairly strong season, dropping 18.9 points, 4.4 boards and three steals a game. Like everyone else on this list, just about every big-name college came knocking on his door. Ultimately, Bradley hitched his wagon to the University of Texas. He would spend one season there but wasn’t as dominant as many were hoping.

In his lone year, Bradley averaged 11.6 points and 1.3 steals per game for an underwhelming Texas squad. Bradley did manage to make the Big 12 All-Freshman team but Texas was sent packing in the first round against Wake Forest.

As a number one overall prospect, Bradley had a pretty forgettable year.
