When it comes to Mid-Major basketball in the NCAA basketball ranks, it’s hard not to ignore what the Ohio Valley, Summit League, and Horizon League conferences have brought to the table when it comes to NBA Draft prospects.

After all, there’s a Murray State alum that goes by the name of Ja Morant that once took OVC basketball by storm and now, is wreaking havoc with the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA.

It’s been a while since the Summit League produced a pick in the NBA Draft, 2013 to be exact, back when former North Dakota State point guard Nate Wolters was selected as the 38th pick by the Washington Wizards before landing with the Milwaukee Bucks. That could all change this season if things continue to improve for a few Summit League basketball stars.

5-foot-9 shooting guard Kay Felder is the most recent player to be drafted from the Horizon League (2016 NBA Draft) which is fitting considering Oakland basketball has another floor general that’s taking NCAA basketball by storm this season as one of the leading assist-makers.

There’s a new crop of talent set to make their case as the next big star in the NBA ranks. It’s never too early to discuss the NBA Draft and as such, there are some stars starting to peak early as the month of February approaches and the bulk of conference play begins.

These are just a few names to check in on on the Mid-Major ranks as there are plenty of other prospects that are raising their stock as well. Take a look at five Mid-Major prospects improving their draft stock in this year’s 2022 NBA Draft.
