6-foot-1 junior Max Abmas, Guard, Oral Roberts

6-foot-1 Oral Roberts basketball guard Max Abmas tested the NBA Draft waters in 2021 before withdrawing his name and returning to campus for his junior campaign. He’s a mid-major prospect that’s taken the feedback received and put it into his development on the court given his production this season.

He’s a volume-shooting guard that can handle the ball and dish out assists while maintaining steady with his selection of shots. He’s averaging 23.1 ppg (2nd in NCAA basketball), 3.8 apg and 3.4 rpg on 43.3 percent shooting from the field and 41.6 percent from behind the arc on 4.2 makes from the line on the season.

Abmas hasn’t skipped a beat since the departure of Kevin Obanor as Oakland basketball is still a top team in the Summit League with a 9-2 record. He’s had some new playmakers to bring along with him as he looks to spark some magic this upcoming March.

They may need to earn an automatic bid in order to make this year’s NCAA Tournament, something they had no issue doing this past season. If Abmas can get the task done, he could see his name shoot up NBA Draft boards after being projected as a mid-second-round pick in last year’s class.
